i figured that it would be easier to post all that nonsense in a thread instead of in the alex thread.
so him and his ugly boyfriend can be bantered about away from the monkeys.

i can't get it until may 6 but i entered that contest to get the album before the north american release. -
i don't get it ,i always get the arctic's albums same release date with UK...

hmmm. do you have itunes? if you do you could check on that.
we usually get the arctics albums a day after the UK release. i don't know why they're making us wait another 3-4 weeks though. -
it's on the greek i-tunes since 4/20, and i heard the age of the understatement on the radio today...
i'll go to a central record store in Athens tommorow,maybe they have it -
yeah. maybe if you go to a chain record store they'll have it.
on our itunes we don't have the pre-order or anything. BUT, we do have the single with the b-sides, video and everything. that made me feel good... having it on time. -

i havent got it yet because SHOCKER
i'm not fussed about getting it on the day of release (yesterday)
so i'll get it when ive got some more money in my bank
its cheaper to buy it from play.com than go to zavvi.
haha.
well i am fussed obviosuly coz i know its going to be epic
but i'm sticking to my principles and not getting wound up coz its not the monkeys
like zane lowe on gonzo only gave it 4 out of 5 g's coz its not "the arctic monkeys or the rascals"
i did a good zane lowe impression today, just to slip that in!

i'm not being sarcastic btw -
i'm not like BEYOND excited or anything but i am looking forward to hearing the full album. don't get me wrong, the monkeys will always be number one in my book, but i am a little excited. i've already heard little snippets of the album and one or two full songs and i've gotta say, it sounds pretty good.

acoustically it sounds good but its TOO musical in parts apparently.
coz you know they wanted it to be this big epic thing? like different to the monkeys and the rascals but i think they got too caught up in it in parts.
i dunno yet, coz i havent got it. but i'll let you know.

see, i think they made a mistake by telling everyone that it's going to be "this big epic thing" because then peoples expectations get too high.
from what i've heard, it sounds good. epic i might say. it's not like, the best album in the world or anything, but it's pretty good.
on one of their b-sides (i think it was two hearts in two weeks) you can hear little aspects of the rascals. and on their cover of in the heat of the morning, it sounds slightly monkey-ish. -

i'm rubbish. haha.
but once again its my principles standing in the way,
i do feel like alex is sorta mistreating the other lads and theyre not getting the credit they deserve. -
haha. the single is worth it. you should get it.
i'm still a massive monkey supporter but alex is one of the monkeys and this is his side project which happens to be pretty damn good. i wanna support alex.
but i do agree with you when you say that the other guys don't get the credit they deserve. i don't know if alex is really mistreating them but they could update their news page more often saying that they're at least recording or something... -

me too!
theres an interview with alex in NME where he says that doing the side project with Miles felt like having an affair with the lads...
from the song i've heard from the album, and the single, it sounds really good. you can definitely tell what is alex/monkeys influences and what is miles/rascals influenced. i like the monkeys influenced stuff better :)
plus, Alex's voice is very overpowering compared to miles. i like it -
alex's voice really does sound better than miles'. but the one song where they both sound amazing, in my opinion, is wondrous place.

in fact, you'll probs get it sooner than me!
coz i refuse to buy it from a shop coz they'll rip me off
but on play.com it'll be cheaper and come within two days probs.

i never buy CD's from barnes and noble because they always rip me off.
there's this store called f.y.e. that has pretty good prices. they don't have it yet though.
like i said, i entered that contest to win the album before the north american release. so fingers crossed! -
